Shiawase ni narou.

The writer loves to circumnavigate the world alone. He loves going to out-of-the-way places and see extraordinary sceneries. He always brings his camera and its charger. He loves towers, bridges, trees and animals, Oh, he hates animals that can kill. He is a social animal. He loves speaking to people. He loves meeting cultures and traditions.

He is a self-confessed anthropologist and socio-political communicator. He dreams of having an overnight stay at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. He was born in Brunei Darussalam but never learned how to speak Malay. He is currently studying Nihonggo through his brother’s old modules.

He has two important blog sites, a private Facebook account and a semi-private Twitter account. He is a proud alumnus of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) College of Mass Communication. He has a bunch of friends and he writes them in his notebook. He loves books, coffee and yogurt. He buys three notebooks a week with no purpose.

He was a sports writer for a national newspaper. He also contributes his stories to another national newspaper and hoping to be the editor-in-chief of his own newspaper. He is now working as a web writer in a web development and 3D animation company but he prefers to be called a digital media journalist. It sounds better.

Inner Resonance

The question is..

Shall we return to innocence? Back to the times when we were still blameless and upright. Away from the giddy world of vagueness and confusion? I think so… probably to start something… something less-ill.

With the ceaseless corruption, perilous dwelling places, striking poverty, continued violence and prostitution, filthy perceptions and minds, the world really changes a lot and nations start to jeopardize their own majesty.

The great blue and green yonder abruptly changes to a lurid and dangerous place.

But what is the reason behind?

The people themselves have the capacity to control a nation. We have the knowledge, rationality and efficacy to govern it. But what’s happening?

It seems our nation is turning back itself. It all starts from our character, the way we live, perceive and execute things. It affects everything, ourselves, our families, the people around us and even the nation where we belong.

It starts from us.

One voice can be transmitted. One resonance can be conveyed and one vision can be rhapsodically believed to be the savior of whole nation. Character is not born nor a natural characteristic of a person. It is acquired from the environment we dwell, from the people we meet and ideas we adopt.

But there is one thing we all have in common. It’s being rational. The ability to reason and distinguish right from wrong based on empirical and widely-accepted standards from the society. Even though we do not have that position, power and authority to lead our nation, we can still make a change.

Temptations eat typically but let us think first what will be the consequences. If we all have the genuine concern and unadorned interaction with others, our nation will definitely uplift and exalt it. That’s the power of purity of our desires.

We’ll just live once in a blue moon.

One body, one mind and place to live in.

Let us keep using our bodies for good actions, keep our minds uplifted and divine for better ideas and most especially this one place shall be converted into one nation, a nation of goodwill, progress and unity. Up to the ends of the earth, to the center of our nation, everything will change if we bring out the best character we do have.

The vast yonder of polluted air can be as clean as the cold breeze in an autumn night. The harmed bodies of water can be as pure as the shimmering white pearl down under the deepest sea. The ventured forests can be as tranquil as a child gently sleeping under a sturdy tree dreaming of calmness and prosperity. And the despicable thoughts of most of us can be as immaculate as the Divine Master’s censures in life. It can only happen through our own character.

A character that can touch lives and change nations.
